Welcome to my blog! My name is Sarah, a self-proclaimed geek hailing from the middle of England. This blog will serve as a semi-personal outlet where I will write about random stuff and my interests.
A little more about me: I share the same birthplace as Charles Darwin and share a birthday (not the year, mind) with Marie Curie. Impressive? I suppose not. This is my attempt at being witty on the otherwise boring, "about me" page.
Interests of mine include playing computer games such as Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Lord of the Rings Online, Team Fortress 2 and many retro games. I also love designing websites, which takes up another huge chunk of my time. When not being geeky on the Internet, I read, listen to music, spend time with the other half, look after my cats and go to the gym.
I have worked in retail and the odd office job since I left college, but really want to be employed as a Web Developer. I am working towards this goal by building up my portfolio. I have been tinkering with web pages since late 1998. Teenage boredom blossomed into a full-fledged passion for designing, maintaining and being creative with websites. I have come a long way since my Geocities pagemaker days and I am always learning new techniques to keep up with the latest technology.
This blog is powered by a neat little PHP script named Habari. I discovered it when a few fellow bloggers substituted Wordpress for it. I am loving the simplicity of the script which isn't full of features that I will never use. Graphics were created with a free, open source program (believe it or not!) called GIMP. The site is coded in valid strict XHTML.
